Timely Submission

The County Clerk’s office is responsible for accepting documents filed in accordance with title 15 of the Texas Election Code and Chapter 159 of the Local Government Code.

Filings are considered on time if:

Hand-delivered to the Harris County Clerk's Office by the deadline;
Deposited with the U. S. Post Office and bear a postmark on or before the deadline [Mailing Address: Office of Harris County Clerk, P.O. Box 1148, Houston, TX 77251-1148]; or
Placed in the hands of a com-mon or contract carrier properly addressed with postage and handling charges prepaid and bears a postmark, or receipt mark, of a common or contract carrier indicating a time on or before the deadline.
